1. Who We Are

AskSara.care is operated by the Ask Sara Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are not affiliated with any senior living facility, placement agency, or referral service. We do not receive commissions or payments based on your care decisions.

2. What We Collect

We collect as little as possible. Here is what may be collected when you use AskSara.care:

• Analytics data — We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This includes pages visited, time on site, and general geographic region. It does not include your name or contact information.
• Voluntary information — If you contact us directly by email, we receive whatever information you choose to share.
• Sara conversations — See Section 3 below.

We do not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or any identifying information simply by visiting the site or using Sara.

3. Sara Conversations

We may in the future log anonymized question data — meaning the text of user questions, without any identifying information — for the purpose of improving Sara's guidance. We will update this policy before any such logging begins, and we will disclose it clearly on the Sara page.

We will never log Sara's responses or any information you share about yourself or your family members in a way that could identify you. We will never sell conversation data. We will never share it with facility operators, placement agencies, or advertisers.

Sara's responses are generated by an AI model operated by Anthropic. Anthropic's own privacy policy governs how they handle API data. You can review it at anthropic.com/privacy.

4. Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics uses cookies — small files stored in your browser — to track visit patterns. This data is aggregated and anonymous. We use it to understand which resources are most helpful and how to improve the site.

We do not use advertising cookies. We do not participate in ad networks. AskSara.care does not run ads.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5. What We Do Not Do

To be direct about practices common in the senior care industry that we explicitly reject:

• We do not sell your information to senior living facilities or placement agencies.
• We do not generate referral leads or receive placement commissions.
• We do not share your data with advertisers.
• We do not use your information to follow up with you by phone or email without your request.
• We do not build advertising profiles based on your use of the site.

6. Third-Party Services

AskSara.care uses a small number of third-party services to operate:

• Google Analytics — Site usage analytics. Google Privacy Policy
• Anthropic — AI model powering Sara. Anthropic Privacy Policy
• Hostinger — Website hosting. Hostinger Privacy Policy

We do not control these third parties' data practices. We have selected them based on their reputations and privacy commitments.

7. Children's Privacy

AskSara.care is intended for adults navigating care decisions for themselves or family members. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we make meaningful changes to this policy — particularly around Sara conversation logging — we will update the effective date at the top of this page and note the change clearly. We will not expand data collection practices without disclosure.
